The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant, bringing advanced accounting experience and will support monthly and annual operations. Primary accounting tasks include the preparation of month-end journal entries, restricted and grant accounting,  reconciliation of various general ledger, income, expense accounts, and special projects as assigned by the Controller. The Senior Accountant is experienced in accounting software and performs month-end close. This position is also responsible for backup assistance for all areas within the Accounting department.

Qualified candidates will have, but not limited to:

●      advanced knowledge and ability to effectively analyze, troubleshoot, and mitigate accounting variances and ensure compliance with financial reporting and other compliance procedures, in accordance with OMSI standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);

●      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience

●      advanced knowledge of and ability to use Sage Intacct or other financial software;

●      minimum 5 years of Accounting experience;

●      minimum 3 years of non-profit experience.

The Senior Accountant has an annual salary of $80,103.84, and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes:
