SUMMARY:Bloom & Brand: Creative Growth\, Smart Sharing\, and IP Protection
DESCRIPTION:Every creative idea has value\, and protecting that value starts with understanding your intellectual property. But most people are building\, sharing\, and collaborating without fully knowing what they own or how to protect it. \nThis collaborative workshop brings together a designer\, marketer\, and attorney for a practical conversation on building your brand and safeguarding your creative assets. We will cover the different kinds of IP you may have\, including your brand name\, logo\, and internal company creations\, as well as the IP you produce for clients or collaborators. You will also learn how to share your ideas and content confidently on social media\, in partnerships\, and in campaigns without losing ownership or credit. Leave with a stronger understanding of how to grow\, protect\, and promote your creative work in ways that support lasting success. \n\nHosted by: Narwhal Law & Business Strategy \nPresenters: Michael Jonas\, JD\, MBA\, Renee Garcia\, Victoria Proppe \nRegistration: Via Eventbrite\, https://www.eventbrite.com/o/narwhal-law-and-business-strategy-86998676433

SUMMARY:Staged Reading of "Laughs in Spanish"
DESCRIPTION:Alexis Scheer’s new play\, “Laughs in Spanish\,” is presented as a staged reading. \nIt’s Art Basel\, and the stakes are high for the gallery that Mariana runs in the Wynwood Arts District in Miami. And when Mariana’s movie-star mother tries to help out\, things get even more complicado. Laughs in Spanish is a fast-paced\, cafecíto-induced comedy about art and success – and mothers and daughters. \nThis staged reading is part of “Mundo de las Mujeres\,” Milagro’s third annual Women’s History Month festival\, created to center the voices of Latina/e women whose creativity is shaped not only by culture and heritage\, but by the realities of living\, dreaming\, and making art in a time when our communities are at the heart of national conversations.

SUMMARY:"Las Mujeres" Staged Reading
DESCRIPTION:Erlina Ortiz’s Las Mujeres is a journey through time as we meet the famous Latinas of herstory’s past. Marlene\, a workaholic engineer who wouldn’t call herself a feminist\, has just been the only woman at her firm promoted to a managerial position. After a devastating encounter\, Marlene finds reality has faded away and her kitchen becomes … a party! The guests? Frida Kahlo\, Rita Hayworth\, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz\, and Minerva Mirabal. Don’t know them? You will. These remarkable women share their stories of art\, and Revolución! with the comfortable and complacent Marlene\, but will she wake up? \nThis staged reading is part of “Mundo de las Mujeres\,” Milagro’s third annual Women’s History Month Festival which centers the voices of Latina/e women whose creativity is shaped not only by culture and heritage\, but by the realities of living\, dreaming\, and making art in a time when our communities are at the heart of national conversations.

SUMMARY:¡Alebrijes!- A Día de Muertos Tale
DESCRIPTION:A mythologized account of Linares’ life (and almost death!)\, this screwball comedy is about art’s capacity to transcend mortality. Audiences will follow Pedro on his nostalgic visit to Mexico City in 1936\, discover his special relationship to his animal totems\, and join him in his journey through a psychedelic Oaxacan underworld. \nWhen Pedro attempts to trade his soul with La Muerte to save his brother\, he quickly learns that one shouldn’t try to strike bargains with Death. After Pedro’s alebrijes rescue him from his near-death experience\, he realizes the importance of relationships\, and he fulfills his artistic potential by creating something that becomes a cultural legacy. ¡Alebrijes! celebrates the beauty and absurdity of life\, art\, and love\, and invites us to consider that death is not a severance\, but an evolution.
